Bronze Craft Corporation wins Innovative Green Design Award
New York House - Saluting Sustainable Designs Innovative Green Design Award Winners
BRONZE CRAFT CORPOARTION was the overall Winner in the "Other" category in the New York House Magazine Innovative Green Design AwardsSM Competition with The Smart Window Sensor, a solar powered, wireless communication device for remote monitoring of room conditions, window security, and window performance. The sensor reports solar gain and thermal loss data via RFID signal to allow the HVAC system to evenly adjust the room temperature across all micro climates. Judges felt that this product could be a "pretty awesome product for a lot of buildings… could lower energy footprints."
The panel of independent judges, which included Paulette Cole, CEO and Creative Director of ABC Home; Paul Gleicher, LEED AP, founder of Gleicher Design Group; Robin Wilson, author, ecofriendly and healthy space interior designer, Robin Wilson Home; Doug Mazeffa, Research Director for Greenopia, and Cheryl Terrace, owner of Vital Design, Ltd., debated the merits and shortcomings of each entry.
Specifically, the judges awarded BRONZE CRAFT the overall winner in the "OTHER" category. As energy audits become important and building owners/occupants become more aware of the consumption, products like Bronze Craft’s Sensor which monitors available sunlight, temperture, humdity, as well as, closed and locked conditions of windows allowing HVAC, lighting, and security corrective actions according to demand become crucial. This Smart-Building Technology should be installed everywhere, judges felt—they particularly liked that this is renewably powered (solar) so it generates the power it consumes.
An official awards ceremony will take place at Javits North, the new LEED Certified Javits Center Building in New York City during the Green Festival, from October 1st – 2nd, 2011.
